Taking Stock

I am going to start a new series on the blog, Taking Stock, which is actually the brain child of Pip from Meet me at Mikes (her blog is brilliant, you should check it out!). I plan to make it a monthly ritual. I feel that it goes really well with the kind of stuff that i write and the posts that i do. And I would love for you guys to join in too!1I6A9378

Its about contemplating and looking deep within yourself amidst the daily chaos and the rush of life. Its about acknowledging your feelings and coming to terms with what you have. Its about accepting your emotions and checking in with yourself. Its about taking stock of your life 🙂puzzle playmat

Making : a new to-do list every day
Cooking : my favorite curry
Drinking : 2nd cup of tea since morning and its only 10 am
Reading: a gossipy novel thrifted at a local store
Wanting: normalcy to prevail soon
Looking: for the perfect book shelf to hold my treasures
Playing: catch with the boys
Deciding: between comfort and thrill
Praying: for the health of someone very close
Enjoying: old town charm and the country setting of our neighborhood
Waiting: some old knick knacks to arrive
Liking: my alone time come night time
Wondering: about what comes next
Loving: the fact that the boys now sleep in their own beds, in their own room
Considering: doing some volunteer work to connect with the community
Buying: all the things the house needs
Watching: the leaves fall off the big tree with every blow of the wind
Hoping: for some work related good news
Marvelling: at the growth of my littlest one
Cringing: a little at all the cobwebs i encounter on a daily basis
Needing: very little
Questioning: fame vs quality
Smelling: fresh basil leaves
Wearing: hair in a messy bun and old tees
Following: the trail of cookie crumbs on timber floors
Noticing: the tan lines from the watch on the arm and sandals on the feet from all those hours of walking
Knowing: that i have to keep going no matter what
Thinking: about rains and winter
Admiring: the health and longevity of locals
Sorting: clothes, closets, sheets, boxes, you name it!
Getting: things done! (one room at a time)
Bookmarking: some local finds and adventures around the city
Disliking: some communication gaps
Opening: windows and letting the cool air in
Giggling: at the jokes of my 2 year old
Feeling: gratefulness and calm and also a little knot in the stomach
Snacking: smoked almonds
Helping: a little girl swing in the park
Hearing: the re-assuring voice of Amma everyday on phone
